Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - Day 1 starts at Hill 60 where we will learn of the battles for the hill throughout the war . Next we move onto Sanctuary Wood and it’s preserved trenches and small museum . In the area you will also visit Sanctuary Wood CWGC Cemetery , the site of Hooge Crater and its CWGC Cemetery , the Hill 62 Canadian Memorial and then onto Polygon Wood and hellfire corner . On this 1st day you will learn of the 1st German attack using Flamethrowers and also the VC winners in the area . After booking into our hotel we will attend the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate .
Day 2 - During day 2 we will visit Essex Farm locaction of an advanced dressing station . Passchendaele to visit it’s church and Crest Farm Memorial as well as it’s New British CWGC Cemetery . We will now move onto Tyne Cot , here we will learn of the battles in the area and walk the cemetery . Our next stop is the Yorkshire Trench at Boezinge to see the excavated trenches . During the day you will also visit The Passchendaele 1917 memorial museum before our last stop of the day to Poperinge to visit Talbot House , the death cells and the shot at dawn firing post . |
